These audio samples are from Dois no Choro's CDs Carinhoso and Juntos. While the "Carinhoso" CD is currently sold out, "Juntos" is available for purchase. Please click below for purchasing information.
Juntos, partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, received two first-round nominations in the 2003 Latin Grammy Awards ("Best Album" and "Best Brazilian Roots"). It is the only U.S. recording to include the participation of legendary choro flutist Altamiro Carrilho, and pianist, Maria Teresa Madeira.
The title track, by Paulinho Garcia, received third place "honorable mention" in the 2001 Chorando no Rio Competition in Rio de Janeiro for best new choro compositions of the year. "Juntos" was the only U.S. applicant in a pool of 242 Brazilian and 1 Australian and is published in the commemorative book.
